Large mahogany library from the Restoration period.

Elegant two-part display cabinet, 19th century. Opening at the top with two glass doors and at the bottom with two solid doors and two drawers. The façade features a rich veneer of burl, with very decorative grain. The upper part is fitted with several adjustable and removable shelves. All the shelves are original, with a mahogany front, and half shelves are also interspersed for placing narrower objects. The lower part offers a compartment block, notably a locker-type arrangement, providing additional storage functionality. The interior, lighter in colour, contrasts pleasantly with the richness of the exterior veneer, and is made of solid oak. The upper cornice, rounded protruding uprights, and turned feet give the whole piece a particularly elegant decorative presence. Beautiful quality of cabinetmaking and veneering, with remarkable work in burl and root. An uncommon piece of great quality, ideal for a character home. Period: 19th century. Style: Restoration.
