“Thailandia” Bed by Ciansky, Shelba and Luciano Frigerio for Frigerio di Desio

Extraordinary “Thailandia” bed designed by Architects Ciansky and Shelba with Luciano Frigerio for Frigerio di Desio in the late 1960s. This bed is special because it is the first cast brass bed produced by Frigerio di Desio, and a tribute to the beds created twenty years earlier by Arnaldo Pomodoro in collaboration with Osvaldo Borsani, friends and connoisseurs of sculptural furniture. After this bed, Frigerio would go on to produce hundreds of sculptural models between 1960 and 1990. Made of cast and hammered brass elements with geometric motifs and sculptural plates, also cast and sculpted by Luciano Frigerio. It is complete and in excellent condition, as shown in the photographs. The bed is sold with the original certificate of authenticity issued by the Frigerio heirs.
