Superb Genoese bed known as "peacock tail", made of wrought iron and delicately hand-painted, manufactured in Genoa (Italy) in the early 19th century. This remarkable bed is distinguished by its elegant peacock tail-shaped headboard, characteristic of the most refined Genoese productions of the time. Its wrought iron structure features a rich decoration of stylised flowers, foliage, and intertwined scrolls, painted in deep shades of burgundy/brown, and finely enhanced with polychrome decorations (shades of white, burgundy, gold). Solid brass hardware, original feet mounted on castors. Single bed width (101cm), sold with its original slatted base and custom mattress. Very beautiful patina highlighting all the charm and character of this rare piece, as decorative as it is functional. The bed will be delivered disassembled to optimise transport costs.
