19th C antique French oval gold leaf mirror with crest

Lovely example of an antique oval gold leaf Louis XVI style mirror with a crest, crafted in France around 1880. The mirror frame is decorated with an elegant top ornament in the form of a basket that is filled with fruits and ears of corn. This beautiful antique French gold gilt mirror retains its original mirror plate and wooden back cladding. The gold leaf gilding, showcasing a subtle red bole undertone, imparts a warm and inviting hue to the gold colour. While minor nicks, chips, and cracks consistent with its age can be observed upon close inspection, they contribute to the mirror's authentic character. The mirror frame is in good structural condition. The bevelled mirror itself is in great antique condition, adding a touch of refined charm to any space.
