Hand candle holder in stoneware from Poterie Millian. Brown stoneware, turned, glazed in a speckled blue-grey, with darker shades where the glaze thickens. The binet, shaped like a small jug with an ovoid body and flared neck, is fixed at the centre of a low dish that collects the wax. A loop handle allows it to be carried. On the body, a flower and a branch of leaves outlined in a brown line. The underside of the dish, left unglazed, bears the impressed mark "Poterie France Millian" and traces of turning. Made in France, probably in the second half of the 20th century. The hand candle holder, or chamber candlestick, was once used to light the way from one room to another. This candle holder can find its place on a bedside table, a shelf, or a dining table. The stoneware and deep blue can suit a bohemian chic or wabi-sabi decor as well as a more minimalist interior. Height: 7 cm, diameter: 9.5 cm; candle diameter: between 2.5 and 3.5 cm; Weight: 150g. Good condition, with slight glaze irregularities typical of the manufacturing process.
