Wall decoration / statue of Medusa. Medusa is a figure from Greek mythology and one of the three Gorgons. She is depicted as a woman with snakes for hair. Her gaze was so deadly that anyone who looked directly at her turned to stone. Eventually, Medusa was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who used her reflection in his shield to avoid looking at her directly. Presumably from England. Late 20th century.
