Rare and remarkable figurative lamp from the German Black Forest tradition, depicting Don Quixote and his faithful servant Sancho Panza, inspired by Cervantes' masterpiece. The base, entirely carved from wood, features a highly expressive narrative scene: Don Quixote, tall and dreamy, holds a book while a stack of volumes rises beside him, a direct allusion to the chivalric novels that fuel his idealism. At his feet, Sancho Panza, stockier and firmly grounded in reality, is accompanied by his pig, a symbol of rusticity and common sense. A central tree, treated as a sculptural axis, unites the two figures and serves as a natural transition to the light. The whole is topped with a Tiffany-style stained glass lampshade, in cream and green tones, depicting stylised foliage. This vegetal decor harmoniously dialogues with the theme of the tree and diffuses a warm and enveloping light, highlighting the deep reliefs of the sculpture. This lamp perfectly illustrates the decorative production of Germany in the 1950s: a subtle alliance of traditional craftsmanship, literary references, and decorative elegance. Condition: Very good state of preservation, lamp fully restored, electricity completely renewed. Origin: Germany, Black Forest. Period: circa 1950. Dimensions: Height: 73 cm, Diameter of the lampshade: 42 cm. A rare and decorative object, ideal for an office, a library, or a refined interior, this lamp is much more than a light fixture: a true sculpted scene, imbued with poetry, literature, and character.
