Antique Wall Cross with Holy Water Font in Onyx and Enamel from the 19th Century. The cross and the holy water font feature a magnificent complex cloisonné work with enamel, stone, and a metal alloy, either copper or bronze. The whole piece is mounted on an onyx base with a brass or copper plaque support. This delicately crafted item dates from the late 19th century. Cloisonné or champlevé is an ancient technique for decorating metal or marble objects. In this technique, enamel, glass, or gemstones are separated by bands of flattened wire placed on a metal support. The religious object is in excellent condition with vibrant colours and has a sturdy brass support with a hook for easy installation. Dimensions: Length: 22 cm. Width: 12.5 cm. Thickness of edges: 1 cm. Maximum depth with wall hook: 2.2 cm. Colours: shades of blue, cream, pink, burgundy. Green onyx with veining and warm colours. Weight: 720 grams. Used condition. The cross and the holy water font in enamel are in good condition, with no impacts and harmonious colours. There is some oxidation and white marks on the inner part of the holy water font. The onyx stone support has two chips, one on the right arm of the cross and the other at the bottom, highlighted in the photos, and two cracks in the middle, but there is no fragility.
