In the early 1920s, she joined the Decorative Arts. It was at the Autumn Salon of 1927 that she met Jean Deville, whom she married the following year. Initially figurative, Élisabeth de la Mauvinière's painting increasingly evolved towards a more abstract style. She exhibited for the first time in the Ardennes at the Young Union of Artists of the Ardennes salon held in Charleville in 1928. After the war, she participated in the gathering of a few artists that led to the revival of the Ardennes Artistic Union, which had ceased its activities due to the war. Jean Deville took over its direction. He influenced Élisabeth de la Mauvinière's artistic practice, leading her to experiment with engraving from the mid-1940s.
