Oval serving dish, ironstone, Longwy, 19th century

Large oval ironstone dish dating from the 19th century. Produced by Longwy (ironstone stamp on the back), Fismes collection. The earthenware is thick and robust (the dish weighs over 1.2 kilos) and is delicately decorated in the Art Nouveau style with floral and butterfly decoration. Some signs of use on the earthenware consistent with its use and age but no cracks or chips. The cream color of the earthenware and the faded petrol blue decoration bring all its charm and authenticity to this pretty dish 🦋 Dimensions: 39.4/27.4cm, height 4.5cm.
