Lustre design Gino Paroldo Fontana Arte brass smoked glass modernist 1960

We are offering for sale a piece of Italian lighting art: an important suspended chandelier from the 1960s, attributed to the famous designer Gino Paroldo for the prestigious house Fontana Arte. This chandelier represents the quintessence of Italian 'Space Age' luxury. The central structure is a masterpiece of mechanics: a body in gilded brass with finely knurled work on the central stem, from which the arms radiate to support the diffusers. The true magic lies in the large geometric plates made of thick smoked crystal. Each plate is bevelled on the edges, a costly and refined work that creates prismatic light effects and gives visual depth to the object. Dimensions: total height (including the stem): 98 cm - width/diameter: 43 cm. Condition: very good vintage condition.
