1930s Art Deco Brass and Opaline Glass Globe Chandelier, Czechoslovakia
Exceptional original Art Deco chandelier produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s, featuring an architectural brass and brass-finished metal structure combined with four sculptural opaline glass globe shades. The chandelier presents a beautifully balanced geometric composition characteristic of sophisticated Central European Art Deco lighting. Three large opaline glass globes are positioned around the central body on elegantly curved architectural arms, while a fourth globe is suspended beneath the center, creating a striking multidirectional sculptural form. The warm polished brass finish provides a rich contrast with the smooth white opaline glass. When illuminated, the four globes diffuse the light softly and evenly, producing an atmospheric glow while emphasizing the chandelier’s dramatic silhouette. Particularly attractive details include the sweeping curved brass arms, stepped central fittings, circular decorative elements and long rigid brass suspension rod. Together these details give the chandelier a distinctive combination of Art Deco geometry, Machine Age precision and elegant European craftsmanship. The chandelier works beautifully as a statement ceiling light above a dining table, in a living room, entrance hall, bedroom, boutique hotel or sophisticated hospitality interior. Its strong sculptural presence allows it to complement both authentic period interiors and contemporary spaces. The chandelier has been carefully refurbished and fitted with new electrical wiring while preserving its original vintage character. Minor signs of use and age remain consistent with its 1930s origin. It uses four E26/E27 bulbs and is compatible with US electrical installations. The overall suspension height can be shortened free of charge upon request, allowing the chandelier to accommodate different ceiling heights. Dimensions: Height: 113 cm / 44.5 in.
