This functionalist armchair was produced by mücke-melder, fryštát, under the catalog type fn24. It was later manufactured under license by thonet-mundus and subsequently by kovona n.p. The armchair is based on the spring chair design by marcel breuer, with wh gispen’s upholstered seat and backrest modification. After 1933, as customer demand for upholstered furniture increased, this model became a blueprint for many manufacturers, particularly in czechoslovakia. It was produced by major domestic companies, including slezák, gottwald, thonet, sab, and mücke-melder. In a slightly modified form, this model remained in production for the longest period under vichr & co., later kovona, continuing even after the post-war industrial reorganization. The gottwald company produced it under the name ek 34 until 1940, while slezák manufactured it as k 29. This chair is in original condition, featuring the original fabric upholstery, which has been professionally cleaned. The original chromed steel frame has been polished, and the wooden armrests have been coated with a high-gloss polyurethane finish. The listed price is for the pair. Dimensions: Height: 79 cm. (formerly mücke-melder, fryštát) Material: tubular chrome-plated steel, bent solid beech, classic upholstery. Style: functionalism, bauhaus.
