This duo of thonet/radomsko bistro chairs number 14 is a true collector's item. Made in Poland by the ZPM Radomsko factory, they date from the 1950s-1960s. The chairs are in perfect condition. The canework is impeccable and the wood is solid and stable. The only signs of wear are slight marks from the varnish on the legs and the backrest (and not in the wood itself). They are made of beech wood. These chairs go perfectly with both modern and vintage interiors. The natural color of the wood gives them an authentic charm, while their lightness and malleability make them very practical pieces. For the story: in the 1970s, the Polish town of Radomsko was the location of a major chair manufacturing factory. This factory, called ZPM Radomsko, was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by the German company thonet. After World War II, the factory was nationalized by the Polish communist government. Despite this change of ownership, zpm radomsko continued to produce thonet chairs. The factory still used the same machines and techniques as thonet to steam and bend beech wood. The chairs manufactured by zpm radomsko were therefore of high quality and complied with thonet standards. thonet chairs from radomsko are sought-after collector's items today. They are appreciated for their elegant design and robustness.
