6 vintage hand-painted plates signed Luis Palacin

A delightful set of decorative plates created by the Spanish ceramic artist Luis Palacin in 1984. Part of the Provincial Tradesman collection, the set comprises six majolica-style plates, each depicting a different trade (scribe, gourd maker, stonemason, cutler, artist, and blacksmith). Each plate is hand-painted and signed. The back of each plate has holes in the rim for hanging. In good vintage condition, the plates show no cracks or chips, but the plate depicting the gourd maker has a small chip in the glaze (not the ceramic itself) on the rim. The plates are 22.5 cm in diameter and weigh 2.42 kg (excluding packaging). A charming collection of plates to enjoy in your home or to give as a gift.
