Rare dated 1807 solid oak farmhouse Baroque table. This remarkable piece of rural craftsmanship is a heavy and robust solid oak centre table with over two centuries of history. Dated 1807 (inscribed in the wood), it combines timeless farmhouse simplicity with strong Baroque-inspired forms, echoing the North Italian Provençal style. The table stands on later-added baluster-shaped legs with soft curves, joined by a stretcher footrest, and features a large single drawer. Made entirely from thick, untreated oak and joined with wooden dowels, it has developed a beautiful natural patina from centuries of use. The top is a later replacement, likely from the early 20th century, blending seamlessly with the base and reflecting the tradition of repair in farmhouses. Its honest, natural presence and strong proportions make it versatile for an entrance hall, design shop, or characterful home interior.
