Painted miniature depicting a young child of the "Baby Stuart" type, inspired by the famous aristocratic portraits of the 17th century attributed to the circle of Van Dyck. The child, dressed in a satin blue outfit and wearing a pale pink bonnet, holds an apple in their hands. The composition, signed "H.L.", is presented under convex glass in a rectangular dark-stained wooden frame with a hollow moulding, measuring approximately 11 X 13 cm. The reverse retains an old typographic printed paper used as a mount background, enhancing the decorative charm of the whole piece. Decorative work likely created around 1940-1960 in the style of old miniatures. Overall good condition with slight patina on the wood, fine signs of use, and small alterations to the paper on the back.
