Large table spoon of 21 cm Nîmes Pont du Gard

Large table spoon (soup spoon) antique in silver-plated metal, measuring 21 cm in length. A remarkable collector's piece with a superb engraving on the back of the spoon bowl depicting the famous Roman aqueduct "Le Pont du Gard" in Nîmes. The engraving work is very detailed and topped with elegant calligraphy. The handle features a rich Belle Époque style decoration with scroll and floral motifs. Condition: Good overall appearance for an object of this age. Note: some signs of wear on the silver plating (loss of silver) in places, which attests to its authenticity and past use. The engraving remains very clear and well-defined.
