Large plate or presentation dish in tin-glazed earthenware with a scalloped edge, entirely hand-painted with a rich polychrome floral decoration in raspberry pink, emerald green, yellow, and blue. Characteristic of popular productions from Eastern France in the 19th century. The thick paste, the numerous small visible firing bubbles on the reverse, the flowing shape, and the colourful palette evoke the earthenware of Argonne, particularly the workshops of Islettes, although a definitive attribution cannot be made in the absence of a mark. The reverse shows the typical irregularities of old manufacturing: small firing pits, traces of shaping, and generous glazing. Several old chips are visible around the edge and on the reverse, testifying to its age but without affecting its strong decorative appeal. In good vintage condition, with signs of use, small nicks, and old chips visible in the photographs (see photos). Diameter 30 cm. A warm and refined presence.
