HST painting "Sunny landscape and wooded village" by Marcel GAULT (1899-1989)

Painting made in oil on embedded canvas (period) representing a sunny and wooded landscape with village of very beautiful craftsmanship made by a small local master of burgundy: marcel gault (quick bio attached). Very well made, painted with generous impasto, this work is in good condition, note two small reinforcements on the back of the canvas but invisible from the front - thank you for looking at the photos, contractual. Marcel gault, amicably named "father gault" was a student at the school of fine arts in dijon and only the second world war prevented him from teaching there. Figurehead of the cover l'essor, the monthly artistic magazine burgundy, jack-of-all-trades, committed man at the time of the popular front, marcel gault knew his hour of glory in the fifties as a painter after having long been an engraver, notorious and appreciated, on wood, copper or brass. Little remains today of his remarkable production.
