Oval wall mirror with gilded frame and mercury glass. Late 19th-early 20th century.

Very elegant oval mirror with a wooden frame and gilded stucco with its original mercury (actually tin) glass. Small in size, it offers very fine work on the frame, decorated with 4 roses blooming in the middle of a flowering branch. They are placed geometrically on the frame and form a beautiful homogeneous whole. On the outside, there is a beautiful row of golden cord that extends to the row of piastres that runs along the glass itself. The back is protected by a wooden panel covered with original cardboard paper there too. We notice some inevitable pitting on the glass, which contributes to the beauty of these mirrors. Here, the warm and diffuse reflection has retained all its luminosity and remains perfectly functional beyond the decorative aspect of the mirror.
