Overview. French Art Deco extendable dining set (circa 1930) comprising one table and eight matching chairs (set of 9). Striking two-tone appearance combining Macassar wood veneer and black lacquer accents. Design. Distinctive Art Deco geometry with vase-shaped supports and a banded contrasting tabletop. Extendable configuration with two black lacquer inlay leaves, extending the table on both ends. Table. Rectangular extending table featuring striped Macassar veneer centre and high-gloss black piano lacquer edging. Supported on two vase-shaped veneer legs standing on black bases; apron/legspace height 65 cm. Chairs. Eight matching chairs with tall, slightly curved backboards veneered in Macassar and black lacquer frames. Seats upholstered in dark grey quilted fabric with keder; chair dimensions: H 88 cm × W 46 cm × D 50 cm (seat H 50 cm). Materials & Finish. Main construction in Macassar wood veneer with high-gloss black piano lacquer detailing. Upholstered seat pads in dark grey quilted fabric, chosen to complement the lacquered frame. Dimensions.
