About the designer: Holger Johansson was active in Sweden in the mid-20th century and is primarily associated with lighting and metalwork, fully embracing the tradition of Nordic modernism. Trained as a metal craftsman, he worked at a time when Swedish design was evolving from decorative classicism to functional and socially engaged modernism.
