Description
Important 4-sided screen / claustra representing the "4 elements" on the façade and the "4 seasons" on the reverse. Unique piece, ca 1940s. Mixed technique, hard pipe earthwork with a knife, in perfect original condition. The backgrounds of the paintings, the brass hinges and the structures of the wooden screen are also original, perhaps repainted or very well preserved. Surrealist expressionist painting perfectly reflecting the spirit of the 40s. In the taste and spirit of painters and ceramist followers of picasso of the 1940s such as georges braque, jean cocteau, jean lurçat, rené buthaud, vally wieselthier, gilbert portanier, jean rivier, edouard cazaux... Unsigned work but of high quality of realization.
