Beautiful antique chest made of exotic wood and gilded brass, richly decorated with a carved panel on the front featuring stylised scroll and foliage motifs, showcasing a decorative craftsmanship of fine quality. The front is framed and reinforced by numerous brass elements (hinges, nails, and lock entries), forming a geometric decoration that elegantly contrasts with the warmth of the wood. The flat lid, also reinforced with brass strips, opens to reveal a storage space. This type of chest was used both for storing linen and as a travel or dowry chest.
