Wide-brimmed hat-shaped Murano suspension, Italy, 1970s

Magnificent large Murano glass lamp in the shape of a wide-brimmed women's hat. Made in Italy in the 1970s. The beige Murano glass lampshade features a 'Pulegoso' treatment that adds a precious texture. 'Pulegoso' glass is made using a method often employed in the 1920s, with the addition of essence to boil the glass in a molten bath. Countless small irregularly shaped air bubbles within the glass mass deliberately limit its transparency. Despite the weight and size of the chandelier, it appears very light and elegant. Excellent vintage condition. Requires an E27 bulb. Suitable for 220 and 110 voltages. Maximum height with cable is 55 cm. Weight of the chandelier is 6.5 kg.
