This ancient statue represents the Holy Family, bringing together the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and the Child Jesus at the Sacred Heart. A gentle and balanced iconography, emblematic of French religious statuary from the late 19th century, designed for devotional interiors. Made of moulded plaster, it features a very understated original polychromy, dominated by a patinated white, accented with green highlights on the clothing and attributes. The delicate modelling of the faces, the quality of the folds, and the finesse of the moulding testify to careful workshop craftsmanship, stemming from professional religious production. The reverse of the base bears an oval stamp stating "Reproduction interdite," an old legal marking indicating a registered model, characteristic of French workshops between 1890 and 1920. An object with a gentle and timeless presence, at the intersection of ancient devotion and poetic decoration.
