Villeroy & Boch 1562 Old Strasbourg Antique Cups

Six Villeroy & Boch Mettlach fine earthenware cups and saucers, model 1562 Vieux Strasbourg / Alt Strasbourg. Stamped (green stamp) "Villeroy & Boch / Mettlach / Made in France-Saar Economic Union / 1562". Villeroy & Boch reissued this model in the 1980s; these are cups and saucers from the original series produced in the 1950s. Printed floral decoration (blooming roses, tulips, forget-me-nots, etc.) on an ivory background, Empire green lines. No damage, except for a small old chip under the edge and a scratch on the edge of two saucers; slight stains and a dot on the bottom and heel of the cups (see detail photos). No other traces of use or rubbing. Very shiny enamel and bright colors. Dimensions: cup / diam. 9 cm, h 5 cm, volume 150 ml; saucer / diam. 14 cm.
