A piece from the second half of the 19th century in the Biedermeier style, crafted from rosewood with beautiful grain patterns. The chest features a geometric front and sides, with a hinged top that has chamfered corners finished with decorative openwork projections. The interior of the sewing table retains its original compartments around the perimeter, lined with red fabric (in excellent condition, after restoration). The handles are metal. In the center is a lid with a fabric handle, beneath which is a cleverly hidden compartment for larger trinkets. The base is supported by a turned and carved stem set on a four-legged plate, finished with brass casters.
