This important 19th-century oil on canvas is a reinterpretation of the famous work "The Mill at Wijk bij Duurstede" by the Dutch master Jacob van Ruisdael. The scene depicts an iconic Dutch river landscape with its imposing windmill dominating the bank, sailing boats on the water, and a majestic cloudy sky.
