Very beautiful pair of CM236 armchairs, designed in the 1960s by Pierre Paulin and produced by the publisher Thonet. This model is fully in line with the formal research conducted by the French designer during this period, aiming to rethink seating as a fluid and organic volume. The chrome-plated steel base, both graphic and rigorous, structures the whole and contrasts with the volumes of the seat and backrest. The latter, slightly inclined, offer a naturally comfortable posture and highlight the purity of the lines, characteristic of Paulin's work during this time. They have been completely covered in a wool satin from the House of Dedar, whose subtle and elegant texture accentuates the geometry of the model. Fully restored, these armchairs are in excellent condition and ready for use.
