Pair of mid-century side tables in the style of Jos De Mey, 1950s

Lovely pair of freestanding nightstands or bedside tables produced in Belgium during the 1950s. Made of decorative wood combined with chromed handles and a black lacquered metal base. Each table has three drawers and a storage compartment, one with and one without a door. Both tables have a finished backside, allowing them to be used freestanding. Currently, no maker is confirmed, but this design resembles a combination of Jos De Mey for Luxus and early Alfred Hendrickx. In nice original condition with small traces of use. A matching chest of drawers is also available.
