An antique comb holder in glazed earthenware from the Nouvelle Faïencerie de Givors. A once essential accessory for hairdressers and washrooms in the 1920s. It features an elongated, slightly wavy, and compartmentalised shape, designed to hold combs or small toiletry items. The stylised decoration combines fir green and brick red on an ivory background, organised around a central rosette framed by graphic motifs. The overall design evokes the early influences of Art Deco. Partially faded stamp from the Nouvelle Faïencerie de Givors, a manufacturer in the Rhône region from 1920 to 1958. In good vintage condition, with a small old chip on one corner and a few discreet signs of use consistent with its age. The glaze and colours remain vibrant and decorative. Length 20 cm, width 9 cm, height 2 cm. A charming piece, ideal for an elegant vintage interior, in a reimagined Art Deco spirit or a guesthouse.
