19th century camphor wood marine trunk

After a life of voyages across oceans, after roaming the world, this beautiful camphor wood nautical trunk is finally ready for a more peaceful life. This late 19th-century officer's trunk is particularly interesting with its three compartments on the sides and document holders beneath the top. Superb top made from a single plank of wood, dovetailed joints, original brass handles. It should be noted that camphor wood is not only beautiful, moth-resistant, and very robust, but it also has the unique characteristic of giving off a pleasant camphor scent. A rare and authentic piece! In good condition, with a small repaired section on the left side of the top, a small piece of wood at the back near the hinges, and a small chip on the back of the trunk's base (see photos).
