18th-century alpine armchair in larch, with generous proportions and a pronounced rustic presence. It rests on four legs, turned at the front and straight at the back, connected by a low stretcher ensuring stability and strength. The seat, made of wide planks, is old and likely altered, reflecting its history. The slightly inclined backrest consists of a moulded crossbar and turned balusters, creating a screen-like effect, in a regional style inspired by the Louis XIII vocabulary. The solid armrests, heavily patinated, rest on turned supports. The turned elements show slight irregularities typical of old rural craftsmanship. A beautiful authentic piece, marked by time and use.
