A small yet striking well-executed modernist still life composition, painted in oil onto board. Confident, expressive brushstrokes in rich colours have been applied to create this still life composition featuring a green apple on a brown plate, placed atop a table and set against a bold green background. The artist displays his artistic skills – thoughtfully using a blend and mix of colours to emphasise the objects’ three-dimensional qualities as well as to capture their reflection on the table.
