Lady's desk or kidney-shaped table, characterised by its curved half-moon shape designed to fit the silhouette of the person sitting. It is a piece of Queen Anne or Chippendale style furniture, compact and elegant, recognisable by its cabriole legs that end in pad feet, as well as the carved shell motifs at the top of the legs. Although the original style dates back to the 18th century, this specific model is most likely a quality reproduction from the first half of the 20th century (late Edwardian period or the 1920s-1930s). The top and the fronts of the three drawers feature a beautiful walnut burr veneer, highly prized for its marbled and intricate patterns. The drop handles are in patinated brass in a classical style. The wooden moulding fixed to the back may indicate that this piece once served as a dressing table. The furniture is healthy, solid, and in good condition. Width 115, depth 60, height 59/77.
