Opaline corolla pulley suspension rises and falls 1900

Early 20th-century ceiling suspension known as "rise and fall". White opaline lampshade. This original ceiling light was used from the beginnings of domestic electrification until the 1950s-60s, positioned above the table; it could be lowered or raised according to needs: for dining or writing, the lamp was lowered, and for more general lighting, it was raised. The porcelain counterweight is adjusted according to the weight of the lampshade by adding more or less metal filings or shavings inside it. The complete set, especially with its ceiling fixture and pulley, is becoming increasingly rare. In good vintage condition. B22 socket. Minimum height: 75 cm / 30" Maximum height: 150 cm / 59".
