This is an amazing stack of 8 mixed hunting/game bird plates and bowls, in eight different designs, a "ready-to-display" set for your china hutch/vintage dresser. Ideal for decorating kitchen walls or for celebrations/ weddings/ shabby chic dinner parties. This is a "one of a kind" plate collection, sumptuously ornate plates, rare and collectible. Beautiful landscape illustrations, in an autumnal palette that is timelessly elegant. All these plates are french, dating from the 1920's to the 1980's. Altogether they weigh 3.3kgs/ 7.3 lbs! The stack is made up of: One large "limoges porcelain" dinner plate, measuring 25.5cms/ 10" diameter, illustrated with a herd of deer in their natural habitat. It is a beautifully ornate plate, with a stunning, textured pattern. One large "limoges porcelain" dinner plate, with a wide border, measuring 22cms (8½") diameter. The motif has two pheasants. Two dinner plates by "porcelaine de sologne", measuring 23cms/ 9" diameter. They are deep sided too, 3.5cms/ 1¼", so that the meat can be served with sauces and dressings, without risk of spillage. They have a fluted, gold "line" edge and show pairs of ducks and partridge in their natural habitats. Two medium dinner plates, measuring 24cms diameter, with wild boar and stag images. The colours and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic. One porcelain plate measuring 23.5cms/ 9¼" diameter, with a "filigree" lace gilt edge pattern and a pheasant design. One 1950s, "limcolor, terrassson, g. Brachet" bowl, measuring 23cms/ 9" diameter X 3cms/ 1" deep. The motif shows a pair of pheasants. Antique white in colour, with an ochre and black edge and stunning border motifs, of wild boar, deer and hare. They are all in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye. They may have the faintest wear to the gilding and motifs, consistent with their age and use, and the faintest beginnings of "hairline crackle" to the glazes.
