Pair of antique mirrors - 19th century
Charming pair of antique mirrors in Louis XVI style dating from the 19th century, originating from a château in Touraine. The two mirrors are perfectly identical, which has become quite rare today. They feature an elegant decoration in gilded wood and stucco, finely carved with ribbons, pearls, and foliage, characteristic of the Louis XVI taste. The antique oval glasses offer a beautiful presence and retain all the charm of period mirrors. As is often the case with such pieces, the wood and glasses have naturally aged over time, resulting in some fine cracks on the oval frame. These signs of age are stable and do not affect the solidity or aesthetic quality of the whole (see last 6 photos). The overall condition is very good with well-preserved original gilding and a lovely patina. This pair would ideally find its place on either side of a fireplace, above two consoles, in an entrance or a bedroom, in both classic and contemporary interiors. Dimensions of each mirror: • Height: 53 cm. • Width: 47 cm. • Depth: 5 cm.
