Set of 6 'Tonneau' dining chairs by Pierre Guariche

Set of 6 'Tonneau' dining chairs designed by Pierre Guariche and produced by Steiner in France in the 1950s. The structure features moulded plywood shells stained in a darker shade. The beech legs are also in good condition. A beautiful example of post-war modernism: functional, sculptural, and as light as a feather. Guariche also made this chair with black steel legs, but here we have the rarer version. Exceptional set in good condition, all are labelled Steiner on the back (one underneath). Highly sought after by collectors.
