Folding Chair Model Plia Italian Mid-Century Modern Space by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli, 1960s

Vintage Plia folding chair by Castelli based on a design by Giancarlo Piretti from the 1960s. Here in a rare and old version in transparent yellow. This design classic is still in production today but only with clear acrylic surfaces. Plia chairs in other colours are now rare and older. The unique feature of this folding chair's design is the singular joint around which the folding mechanism pivots. This makes the chair particularly narrow and easy to store once folded. The chair is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina.
