Vintage domed travel trunk from the 19th century.

Antique domed travel trunk / ship trunk dating from the late 19th century or very early 20th century (period 1880–1910). It features a solid wood structure adorned with curved reinforcement slats on the lid, metal corners and fittings in black, as well as a latch and locks in brass/steel. The interior retains its original red fabric under the lid and wooden racks/supports on the sides (formerly used to hold removable boxes or compartments). The domed shape is designed for rainwater to run off and to prevent other trunks from being stacked on top on ship decks or in cars. Materials: varnished stained wood, curved wooden slats, nailed metal fittings, red felt/fabric interior. In good condition and sturdy. Uses: coffee table, end of bed, toy storage chest for children, shoe storage furniture for the entrance. Width 70, depth 45, height 55.
