The rare large hand-blown glass pendant from Murano, designed by Ettore Fantasia and Gino Poli for Sotis Murano, Italy, in the 1960s. A transparent glass lampshade with a Pulegoso treatment that adds a precious texture and a milky white Lattimo band around its entire circumference. The Pulegoso glass is obtained through a method often used in the 1920s, with the addition of essence to boil the molten glass. Countless tiny irregularly shaped air bubbles inside the glass deliberately limit its transparency. Lattimo is a special glass treatment. It is a milky white glass whose opacity is due to the presence of microcrystals. The crystals change the refractive index, giving the glass a milky appearance. The lampshade is shaped to fit the lamp holder in a recessed sphere at its base and is fixed to an internal metal structure. Excellent vintage condition. E27 bulb required. Compatible with 220 and 110 volts. For safety reasons, the wiring has been replaced by a professional electrician. Maximum height with cable 102 cm. Weight of the chandelier 5.5 kg.
