Superb Bakhtiari Persian rug, entirely hand-knotted in Iran between 1960 and 1980. Very large size: 305 × 198.5 cm (excluding fringes). Bakhtiari rugs are renowned for their great durability, thick wool, and highly decorative patterns. This model features a central floral medallion surrounded by a profusion of arabesques and flowers. The borders also display stylised birds, a traditional motif sought after in vintage Bakhtiari productions. An old merchant label, stating "Handmade rug – Iran Bakhtiar," is present on the rug and provided with the lot. It confirms the rug's authentic origin. Careful shipping.
