19th-century trumeau mirror

Very beautiful trumeau mirror from the late 19th century, reflecting the Louis XVI style. Entirely made of wood, it has been restored to give it a new appearance. An oval medallion carved in relief with foliage frames a painted scene depicting characters in a landscape. The style represented is pastoral and romantic. Neoclassical urn and vase motifs adorn the upper corners. A vertical rectangular mirror in the lower part is framed by wooden uprights. The varnish, which has yellowed over time, has been cleaned and then patinated with a greyish white colour, and the mouldings have been highlighted in gold. The canvas has also been cleaned and varnished to restore its former brilliance. It has a stunning effect on a fireplace or placed on the floor in a classic or contemporary decor.
