This Harry Bertoia Diamond chair and hocker were designed by the American designer Harry Bertoia in the year 1952. The set is produced by Knoll International and is a true classic. The Diamond chair and hocker are made of steel and were once part of a very successful furniture collection from Harry Bertoia. The Harry Bertoia Diamond chair is a recognized mid-century modern piece of furniture and fits very well in a modern interior. This armchair has the beautiful color scheme; black and white and is an early edition from 1950 – 1965. The armchair has a cognac leather seat and the hocker also has a cognac leather cushion. About the designer of the Diamond Chair At the age of fifteen he was given the choice to stay in Italy or to go to Detroit in America. Harry Bertoia chose the last option. Together with his older brother, Oreste, he left and saw the adventure. After learning all the daily activities and of course the language he went to the Cass Technical High School, where he studied art and design. He also learned everything about the skills that come in making handmade jewelry. Read more… The condition of this chair and hocker is very good. The chair and hocker have minor traces of use. The leather upholstery is also in very good condition with minimal signs of wear.
