A hand mirror, “Camellia, ” in stamped and polychrome glazed earthenware, created by Mithé Espelt in the 1960s. This collector's item is in very good original condition; only slight oxidation is visible on the mirror. A French ceramicist with an immediately recognizable style, Mithé Espelt (1923–2020) left her mark on her era with her delicate creations and her research into firing techniques, particularly raku. A passionate teacher, she received numerous awards, including the Grand Prix National de la Céramique in 1991. Her iconic works are now featured in many contemporary art museums in France and abroad.
