Large trumeau mirror, Directoire style – Early 20th century

This Directoire-style trumeau mirror is distinguished by its painted frame enhanced with delicate golden ornaments, which elegantly highlight the purity of its lines. Its upper part, shaped like an arch, is surrounded by mouldings and topped with a refined decoration where two stylised swan figures face each other around a central urn, all enveloped in a play of finely sculpted volutes. The side columns form pilasters that provide harmonious verticality, accompanied by large palmettes above. In the lower corners, geometric patterns add a touch of balance and symmetry.
