Oval coffee table in cube marquetry and bronze, Louis XV style.

A small oval coffee table with two tiers, entirely adorned with marquetry. The pattern features trompe-l'œil cubes: three assembled diamonds that, depending on the angle and light, shift from concave to convex. It runs across the top as well as the lower shelf, bordered by light fillets, while the apron is treated in chevrons. A drawer opens at the front, with a simple bronze knob. It slides perfectly. The curved legs feature bronze drops and rosettes, and meet at the bottom on the stretcher, where one places the books that are yet to be finished. It has the patina of its age, and it has not been removed: a few chips of veneer on the edge of the top, minor losses in the decoration.
